Freefly Alta is a hexa-rotor drone for aerial imaging that - when used in conjunction with a separately available MoVI gimbal - supports mounting the camera either below or above the airframe. This configuration flexibility makes shooting from virtually any angle possible, even with the camera pointed up. Alta features a maximum payload of 15 lb, and is therefore suitable for DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, and even compact cinema cameras (depending on lens weight and other variables). Equipped with Freefly's own flight control system, Alta works with a range of transmitters, including many Futaba, Spektrum, and radios (see specifications for specific requirements). Flight modes provided include Manual, Height Hold, Climb Rate Control (Vario), Position Hold, Ground Speed Control, Return-To-Home, and Auto-land. For monitoring and first-person view, the flight controller works with FPV systems from Skyzone, BOSCAM, Immersion RC, and Fatshark. OSD display is user-configurable, and telemetry can data can also be displayed on compatible Futaba transmitters.

The Alta includes a hard transit case. Additional item essential to get started include flight batteries and a charger, a transmitter (radio controller), and of course a MoVI gimbal and camera.

Fast Setup and Breakdown
The Freefly ALTA features a robust standard hard case that the aircraft folds up in and a packs away. Before each flight, simply unfold the prop arms and in insert the battery (available separately) - the props themselves unfold automatically as they spin up. No pre-flight assembly requiring tools is needed

Testing

Each and every ALTA endures a barrage of component and system level tests designed to weed out items that do not meet our strict quality control levels. After passing this gauntlet of tests, each ALTA is test flown by a Freefly test pilot to ensure each ALTA flies as well as our personal machines.

Automatic Data Logging
ALTA 8 makes it easy to monitor and analyze the performance and 'health' of your machine using our proprietary high speed data logging via micro SD card. This flight log gives pilots access to a wide range of helpful data. Additionally Freefly publishes the flight data viewer application that our Engineering team uses to analyze flight data to help give customers actionable insight to their machine.

Quick Release
We hear from customers each and every day that our Toad in the Hole quick release system has dramatically improved their speed and flexibility on set. We decided early that the ALTA would utilize the TITH quick release on both the top and bottom of the drone, allowing unparalleled speed, flexibility, and creativity.

Freefly pioneered the adjustable o-ring isolation design on the CineStar, and we've improved it further for the ALTA by upgrading the design to be tool less and quick release.

Weather Resistant
The ALTA features a lightweight molded plastic enclosure to cover the flight control and power distribution board to protect them from the elements.

Receiver Mounting Bay
The ALTA 8 provides two fully enclosed receiver mounting bays to keep these sensitive components protected and dry.
